Official Destination Partner
We are Canada, we are open. As a country we're pretty hard to sum up. And not just because we're really, really big, but because we're home to so many different people with so many different stories. From the Indigenous Peoples who have stewarded this land for millennia to the newcomers we welcome every day, Canada is home to countless different backgrounds, cultures, identities, traditions and languages. From our wide open spaces, to welcoming visitors with open hearts, to open minds that embrace new ideas and perspectives, our openness permeates everything we do. We open our hearts to all who come with an open mind, to those who want deeper, more meaningful travel experiences. In Canada, we see tourism as a way to connect with one another. With nature. With ourselves. Because when we're at our most open, we're at our best.

Festival Bookshop
Kramers first opened its doors amid the Bicentennial celebrations of 1976. At the time of its opening, it was the first bookstore/café in Washington DC. Over the years, through expansions, subpoenas, and innumerable neighborhood changes, much of our business has remained constant, notably our commitment to providing our patrons with access to the best books we can procure and to the most delicious, varied food we can produce. In addition to possessing a lively, convivial atmosphere, and a full-service bar, Kramers stages hundreds of book-related events each year, both in the store and elsewhere. From tourists to neighbors, college students to the political elite, there is something for everyone at Kramers!
